As long as I've known her, Courtney has had a hopeless affinity for the hypnotizing rainbow colors of Wild Red Abalone. She brought me to her secret spot a few years back, an enchanting cove along the Pacific coast, where I filmed this video.
It's the nearest thing to a treasure hunt I've ever experienced. You see that shimmer in the noonday sun; run over to the spot in your bare feet before the cold wave washes up, and scoop! You have yourself a trove of opalescent beauties, all polished by the sea, before the day is out.
We now return as often as we can to bring the washed-ashore shells and fragments back to the studio and shop, where they are right at home.
